The new Dragon Quest Tact teaser trailer has been released to mark the opening of the sign-ups for a closed beta that will be held in Japan from February 27th to March 5th.

With no news of a Western release, there is no North American and European counterpart of this beta.

Dragon Quest Tact is a tactical RPG based on the series. The game will come with many of the features fans love in the series, thanks to the fact that key developers of the series such as Yuji Horii and Koichi Sugiyama will be involved. Akira Toriyama of Dragon Ball fame will continue providing character and enemy design, so the series’ colorful atmosphere will be faithfully represented in the new mobile game.

Dragon Quest Tact releases later this year on iOS and Android in Japan. A Western release has yet to be announced, but chances are actually decent, considering the newfound popularity of the series following the release of Dragon Quest XI and Dragon Quest Builders 2 last year.
