Puzzle/RPG Mix Swoc Now Available On The App Store

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

In the past few months, we have seen a flood of games combining match 3 puzzle game with role playing game mechanics, and it looks like they won’t stop coming anytime soon. This mostly due to the fact that the combination between these two genres works incredibly well and manages to be very engaging for those that enjoy a deeper puzzle game experience.

A new puzzle/rpg mix is now available for purchase on the App Store. The new game, called Swoc, manages to stand out from the competition thanks to a few interesting gameplay mechanics that few other games sport.

Just like other match 3 games, you will have to match 3 tiles of the same type on a grid. In Swoc, however, things are made more complicated by the inclusion of boss tiles and a tile representing your character. The tile with your character can get attacked if it ends up close to an enemy, so gamers will have to increase the number on the tile as much as possible to avoid defeat. To do so, you will have to match tiles that the character likes. Matching tiles that the character doesn’t like, however, will make the number go down.

These gameplay features add a huge strategic element to the game, making it really hard to put down.

Swoc is now available for purchase on the App Store for $1.99. It’s a really engaging game so it’s more than worth its low price.
