Best New Game of the Week: 4444

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Every week, we’re checking out the new releases on the App Store and bring you what we believe to be the best release of the week. Today, the award goes to 4444, a new puzzle game created by Bulkypix. Before you go with “Oh, no! Not another puzzle game,” let me tell you that there are actually some really nice mechanics coming with the game and it really is one of high quality. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be here, would it?

In 4444, the rules are extremely simple: you only need one finger to play and you have to tap the screen in order to change the colors on a board. Four squares of the same colour and size merge to form a bigger square of the same colour. Join all the squares on the board into one and complete the level! Sounds pretty easy, right? Well, if you’ve been playing any puzzle games on your iOS-powered device lately, you know that it’s not really like that and mastering the game is the real challenge.

Because many other elements come into play: limited number of moves, blocks of random colors (usually not the one you need) and more and more elements that make your life a lot more difficult. But this also means “enjoyable” in the world of puzzle gaming, so you should really try this one out. So head to the App Store and download this week’s best game, 4444!
