Genshin Impact is a widely popular gacha based role-playing game from miHoYo. The studio is quite known for their previous title Honkai Impact The Third, which again, is a gacha-based game. The gacha game features a wide variety of playable characters, weapons, and much more, hidden behind a paywall.

Gacha is a term widely known in the mobile gaming community. Gacha game mechanics comes in different forms, though usually as banners, inducing players to spend premium in-game currency(bought with real money) to receive random virtual items, may it be a legendary character( 5 Star in our case), Weapon or any other item.

The five-star characters or weapons in Genshin Impact are hidden behind a paywall, also known as Wishes.

While there is a very thin line behind Gacha and Loot Boxes, many of the players in the gaming community are addicted to this system or better-called game mechanics. The gacha rolls serve as good content for streamers and content creators.

Moreover, most of the games nowadays take free to play into consideration. Resulting in free playable characters, good weapons, and more for players who just simply want to play the game for its story, art, gameplay, music, or any other aspect.

How to get five star characters in Genshin Impact

Now, coming back to the main topic. In Genshin Impact, players get a five-star character only via the wishes banner. As of now, apart from the Traveler(Main Character), there is no five-star playable character in Genshin Impact available for free.

In order to get the five-star characters in Genshin Impact, players need to perform wishes using Primogems or different Fate’s, depending on the banner of choice. Here is how you perform a wish in Genshin Impact.

Reach adventure level 5, complete the prologue.
Go to the wishes menu.
Traverse across the different banners and perform a wish on the banner of your choice.

Tips: If you are a new player. Try the Beginner’s Wish banner, as it guarantees 10 wishes, for only 8 Fates and at least one four-star character. Also, there is a pity system that rewards players with a five-star character once they reach 90 wishes. The pity gets reset if a player gets a five-star character before the pity comes into play.
