The unique multiplayer adventure Ingress is finally available on the App Store, a game that uses mobile devices’ features in some really unique ways.

In Ingress the player will play as an agent of the Resistance or The Enlightened, looking to secure deposits of a mysterious energy that can be found all over the world. The game utilizes the GPS to show where the deposits are and it will be up to the player to reach them in real life. Teaming up with other players it’s going to be fundamental for winning, as the competition is going to be fierce.

Ingress also comes with some unique features that make the gameplay experience more deep than anticipated. Players will be able to use some special items as well as capture territories and plan ahead with an intelligence map. Ingress is definitely an interesting experiment that can really make video games move forward in some uncharted territories. It will be interesting to see if other teams will try to expand these ideas in the future.
