Have you wondered what class to pick in Stella Arcana? Or maybe what is the best class in Stella Arcana? Well, wonder no more – I am here to give you a complete guide to the classes and help you pick the best one for your playstyle.
In the future, the classes will be available for both genders, but as of right now (in the early access stages of the game) they are gender-locked – in the sense that most of them are available in only one gender. That won’t be the case in the future, and they even have an in-game function to change gender, but more about that in another guide.
First off, I am going to tell you a little bit about each of the classes, so you can better understand what their role is, and how difficult (or easy) they are to play. So let’s check out the best classes in Stella Arcana, shall we?
Omni Warrior
– Attack: 4/5
– Armor: 5/5
– Healing: 3/5
– Control: 4/5
– Stamina: 5/5
– Agility: 4.5/5
Overview:
- Melee ranged
- Balanced offensive and defensive performance
- The only tank in the game
- Can be an offensive unit too
This is a melee class, that specializes in tanking, all while not lacking too much damage (although it’s not as strong as a DPS-specialized unit). They have plenty of crowd control, which makes them a must in any team that wants to do a raid/boss.
The Omni Warrior is somewhat of a balanced class, which is ideal if you like hands-on battle without worrying too much about your Stamina and health bar. They are also fairly easy to play, and a great class to choose for someone who is a complete beginner.
Rune Mage
– Attack: 5/5
– Armor: 3.5/5
– Healing: 2/5
– Control: 4/5
– Stamina: 3/5
– Agility: 4/5
Overview:
- Ranged attacks
- Have consistent damage
- Do damage over time (DoT)
The Rune Mage is a ranged AoE spell caster (as the name also suggests), that specializes in damage over time, explosions, and generally being a consistent DPS carry. They lack defenses, but more than make up for it in terms of damage.
As for the difficulty in playing, I would say they are not easy at all, because you need to position yourself accordingly. As a Rune Mage, you never want to take direct damage, because your defenses are very low.
I would not recommend playing this class if you are a complete beginner, because it might be difficult to fully use their kit in the best way possible.
Elven Archer
– Attack: 4.5/5
– Armor: 4/5
– Healing: 2/5
– Control: 4/5
– Stamina: 4/5
– Agility: 5/5
Overview:
- Are ranged
- Very powerful DPS
- High burst damage
The Elven Archer is the second ranged DPS class this game has to offer, and it’s definitely a fun one! Elven Archers are highly agile (mobile), and work in a similar way to the Rune Mage, except they have way more mobility, better single target attacks, and can melt bosses.
They are not easy to play, but when you compare them to the other ranged DPS class (Rune Mage) you will find them a lot more beginner-friendly. So, if you want to play a ranged DPS class, I definitely recommend the Elven Archer.
Holy Priest
– Attack: 2.5/5
– Armor: 4/5
– Healing: 5/5
– Control: 3/5
– Stamina: 4/5
– Agility: 2/5
Overview:
- Are ranged
- Have a lot of heals
- Can switch to attack mode
- Excellent performance in recovery and offense and defense
The dedicated healer in Stella Arcana is the Holy Priest. They don’t have a lot of damage if they don’t specialize in it, but they have average defenses and more than enough healing to make up for it. Every party (boss, raids, instances) needs a healer, and they are somewhat of a rare gem.
A good Holy Priest will rotate their skills in such a way that no party member will ever die, and will provide plenty of buffs for them. They fairly easy to play, but you really need to understand their entire kit to become a top-class healer.
I would recommend them for a complete beginner who wishes to put some time and effort into the game, and really learn the class, because it can be very fun to play and is in high demand for higher lvl instances.
Shadow Assassin
– Attack: 5/5
– Armor: 4/5
– Healing: 2/5
– Control: 3/5
– Stamina: 3.5/5
– Agility: 5/5
Overview:
- Are short-ranged
- Difficult to play in PvE
- Will show its true value in PvP
- High burst DPS
The Shadow Assassin is the ultimate DPS assassin class. They have high burst damage, a lot of mobility, and are a beast, especially in PvP arena. They are melee ranged, and can inflict a truckload of damage!
However, they are quite difficult to play since their defenses are fairly low and cannot tank the bosses as an Omni Warrior could. I wouldn’t recommend them for a complete beginner, since you need to have some knowledge about the game, when to go in, when to go out, and the like.
Rosen Knight
This class is currently not available in the game!
– Attack: 5/5
– Armor: 5/5
– Healing: 1/5
– Control: 5/5
– Stamina: 4/5
– Agility: 5/5
Overview:
- Melee ranged
- Will mitigate a lot of the damage received by the party
- Have very good firepower
The Rosen Knight night can be a powerful attacker in addition to being highly durable. All the abilities other than his Healing are high, and you can have an active part in every role (DPS/Tank) just by having a healer by your side, to provide the healing he lacks.
The image below is a preview of how the Rosen Knight will look, from the Japanese version of the game.
What’s the best class in Stella Arcana?
Looking back, I would say that it all depends on your play style. All classes have their own role in the game, and none is better than the other. They can all become powerful when the right skills and Talents are unlocked and equipped. In my opinion, these would be the best classes, depending on your playstyle:
The best DPS class for beginners: Elven Archer / Holy Priest
The best class for PvP: Shadow Assassin
The best Tank class: Omni Warrior / Rosen Knight
The best Healer class: Holy Priest
The best AoE class: Rune Mage
The best class overall: Rosen Knight (not yet released)
What’s your favorite class so far? Let me know down in the comments section below! I personally like the Rune Mage very much, because of the powerful AoE damage and explosions, and because Mage is something I usually tend to play in most games.
