When you start your journey in LifeAfter, you want to start off on the right foot. Therefore, today we’re bringing you a LifeAfter strategy guide to help you choose the best options for your future in this survival game.
We are going to start off with a few basic tips, so if you’re just at the beginning, you better read through this guide so you will know exactly what you want to achieve and what the best approach would be. And without further ado, let’s dive into the LifeAfter tips and tricks!
Choose the Labrador, it is the man’s best friend
When you’re just starting out, you will begin by getting familiar with your character, but soon after you’ll be asked to choose a dog. Don’t pick the dog only based on its looks, because there is a trick here. The Labrador has some extras (it gives you 2 extra storage slots), so you will be able to get more bonuses from that.
I advise you to go for the Labrador, or if you haven’t chosen it, but you are still in the early levels, then start the game once again from the beginning. It’s not too much, and the feature will definitely be helpful in the future.
Play with a friend and do the tutorial together
If you start playing the game together with a friend, then I suggest you both do the tutorial together, because it will result in 300 Friendship Points. That is just what you need to be able to live together with your friend once you unlock the shelter. It’s a very useful option, but if you play alone, then the tutorial is a good way to learn all the basics of the game.
And while we’re at this, make sure that you also do all of your Newbie Quests ASAP, because they will give you plenty of useful rewards in return.
Join an active Camp
A Camp can be a very fun and entertaining feature if you join the right one. Basically, camps are the equivalent of guilds in every other game, and you will often see camp mayors advertising theirs.
I suggest you take some time to know what you would like to do in the game, and then try to find a camp that fits your play style like a glove. For example, you could try to join a camp that has only experienced players whom you can ask for help (though that can only work if you are already quite ahead).
Take part in the limited events
If you want to catch up with veteran players or just get a head start on your journey, then make sure you stay active, online, and log in to the game each day of the event. There can also be event-limited rewards, such as special foods or ingredients, so try to collect as many as you can.
Always carry food with you everywhere you go
This is a basic tip that could possibly save your life at one point in the game. You want to always carry with you some food, because even if it takes up a bag slot, one time you might forget to eat, and that will definitely give you a hard time. You never want to die of starvation, because it’s a slow and excruciating death (and it’s bad if you carry some important items with you).
It’s better to be safe than sorry, correct? So, unless you are heading just outside the camp, make sure you carry with you something to keep you healthy!

Manage your tools accordingly
Another useful tip for LifeAfter, is that you should always carry with you extra materials for crafting tools, or even extra tools. They will take up some bag slots, that’s true, but you never know when you will stop and collect something, chop down a tree or the like. So, make sure that you always have some materials with you, especially until you are able to craft something better and more sturdy.
Also, keep in mind that it’s better to recycle your old tools that have no sturdiness rather than discard them. When you delete your items, you don’t get anything back. But when you dismantle them, you will recover some of the materials back, which is good especially early on in the game.
Choose a profession according to your play style
While I cannot tell you what is the best profession in LifeAfter, I can tell you one thing for certain: each of them has its own role, and each of them is good. If you like to collect resources and you have a very PvE-oriented play style, you might want to go for Gatherer – Gather Expert. If you want to build stuff, you can go for Craft Expert. If you are thirsty for blood, then Combat Expert.
It’s mostly a matter of preference, but you can try them all out if you have the money to change between them. It costs real money to swap your profession, so take your time and find your play style before you choose something.
