The biggest new feature introduced by patch 1.3 is iPhone support, meaning that the game can now be played on iPhones as well as on iPads. This is a really good feature for those who live to play their games on the go without having to bring along their iPads.

The other changes introduced by the new patch are a slew of small but nice changes like font size costumization, something that’s needed for iPhone users, as well as several bug fixes.

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is the enhanced port of the original role playing game released years ago on PC. The iOS version is definitely a decent port that suffers from some interface problems, since touch screen controls are not as good as the original mouse ones. The port, however, does manage to bring the magic of the original release to modern devices so it’s a good pick for nostalgic gamers and for those who want to play the game for the first time. Some of the mechanics are outdated, but the game is still as charming as ever.

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is now available for purchase on the App Store.
