Rumors regarding an updated Nintendo Switch model have been circulating online for a while now, but it seems like the time has come for Nintendo to finally show the new system.
In a new report shared by Bloomberg, it has been revealed that this Nintendo Switch 4K ready model will be announced ahead of the E3 next month to allow publishers to showcase upcoming games running on the system. Production is reportedly beginning in July, and the system will release in September or October worldwide.
The new Nintendo Switch 4K model will be sold alongside the Nintendo Switch Lite, which will continue to be in production, and the regular Nintendo Switch model, which will be phased out once the new system releases. The new console will be priced over $300, but likely not too much above it, as a higher price would put in direct competition with the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, which retails for $399.
Unlike what has been speculated in the past few weeks, this upcoming Nintendo Switch model will continue being a hybrid model like the original console. It will feature a 7-inch Samsung OLED display and new technology from NVIDIA that will let the console push better graphics.
The new Nintendo Switch model has yet to be revealed, but it supposedly won’t take long for an official announcement to come in. Are you getting the new system once it launches? Let us know in the comments!
