Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

How to Save in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

The universe where the Monster Hunter series is set is ripe with different stories to tell, and the original Monster Hunter Stories proved that a traditional JRPG set in this world could work quite well. And it did work so well, that Capcom has gone ahead and released a sequel to the game called Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

Being traditional JRPG sporting hours of gameplay, you will need to save your game often to avoid losing progress. Here’s to do so.

How to Save in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Auto-Save

Like pretty much every modern game, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin features an auto-save option that is extremely handy if you’re one of those players who tend to forget to save often, or if you want to quit the game but you are not nearby any other manual save location. The game’s auto-save option saves the game when entering a new location, or after specific events, or after reaching a checkpoint. You will notice the game is auto-saving by looking at the lower-left side of the screen.

To load an auto-save, you will just have to pick the first slot in the menu, as this slot is reserved for the auto-save.

Your Bed

In case you do not trust the game with something as important as saving your game, you always have the option to create a manual save. To do so, all you need to do is get back into your room, interact with your bed and pick a slot. The Auto-Save slot cannot be used, so pick any other to make your manual save.

Catavan Stands

The world of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is rather big, and traveling from one area to the next takes a long time. Thankfully, the game features Catavan Stands which let players quick-travel to already explored locations. These Stands also let you save your game, essentially functioning as those save points that used to be featured in role-playing games in the past.
