Skills in Ys IX: Monstrum Nox are leveled up in a very simple way. Every time a skill is used, it gains experience, and once certain thresholds are met, the skill will level up. As SP restore automatically as you fight, you can simply fight enemies over and over using skills to level them up.

Doing this, however, is not optimal, especially after reaching a certain point in the story. Once you reach Chapter 5, you can head to the West Dumping Grounds where you will find some extremely tough monsters that cannot be defeated by regular weapon attacks and skills. This means that you can unleash skills over and over without having to move between different areas with the teleporters to make them respawn. Additionally, these enemies’ attacks are very easy to dodge and block, and every time you perform a Perfect Dodge, you will restore a massive amount of SP. By using the Warrior Seal accessories, you can also reduce the amount of SP required to use skills, making this farming method even more efficient.

In case you need a change of scenery, you can play the final Grimwald Night. The huge amount of enemies that appear during it, and the many bonuses you receive as support from other characters, will make sure you will never run out of SP during the battle.
