How to Trigger the Pumpkin Moon in Terraria

In Terraria, players can trigger the Pumpkin Moon event with the help of the Pumpkin Moon Medallion. All players have to do is to use the Pumpkin Moon Medallion during the night and it will trigger the Halloween-themed Pumpkin Moon event, which stays active till dawn i.e 4:30 AM.

Oh, did we mention the Pumpkin Moon event is a Hardmode event that you can trigger post Planetera boss fight?. Well, now you know. Make sure you have defeated the Planetera boss at least once. You cannot trigger the event before the Planetera boss fight because you won’t be able to get the Pumpkin Moon Medallion.

How to Get the Pumpkin Moon Medallion

You can get the Pumpkin Moon Medallion via crafting. All you need is three materials and a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil. The required materials are mentioned below.

• Pumpkin X 30
  • It grows on grass on the surface.
• Ectoplasm X 5
  • Dropped by Dungeon Spirits.
• Hallowed Bar X 10
  • Dropped by the three mechanical bosses.
    • The Twins
    • The Destroyer
    • Skeletron Prime

That’s all you need to craft a Pumpkin Moon Medallion. Once you have the item, just use it during night and you can trigger the Pumpkin Moon event.
