Terraria: How to get a Mechanical Skull

The Mechanical Skull is a boss summoning item in Terraria that is used to spawn Skeleton Prime which is a hard mode version of Skeletron. Being a night exclusive item, the Skeleton Prime will simply not summon if Mechanical Skull is used during the day. Moreover, players can’t use it when the boss is already there.

How to get a Mechanical Skull in Terraria

The only way to get Mechanical Skull in Terraria is by crafting five iron bars or five lead bars followed by three souls of light, three souls of night and 30 bones. Once you have all these crafting materials, go to the Mythril Anvil or Orichalcum Anvil and craft a Mechanical skull.

Here’s how to obtain the above mentioned crafting materials:

• Iron Bars/Lead Bars: Lead Bars are crafted using 3 Lead Ores at a Furnace whereas the Iron Bars are produced using 3 Iron Ores at Furnace.

• Souls of Light: Go to the Underground Hallow, and deep underground where lava summons often, and place a few Water Candles.

• Souls of Night: It is dropped by majority of the enemies killed in the Underground Corruption or Underground Crimson.

• Bones: These are dropped by Angry Bones, Dark Casters, and Cursed Skulls, which spawn in the Dungeon.
