Terraria’s Hardmode is triggered after the player defeats the Wall of Flesh Boss for the first time, and creates a more difficult version of the world. The new mode brings new challenges, and new content- including Hardmode ores.
After Hardmode is triggered it becomes possible to destroy Demon or Crimson Altars. 1 or 2 Wraiths will appear after an altar is destroyed, along with one randomly chosen type of Hardmode ore:
- 1st Altar Destroyed: Receive Cobalt Ore or Palladium Ore
- 2nd Altar Destroyed: Receive Mythril Ore or Orichalcum Ore
- 3rd Altar Destroyed: Receive Adamantite Ore or Titanium Ore
The chosen ore will appear in random locations in the Underground world and in various quantities, and once the chosen ore appears the alternative ore will not spawn.

Chlorophyte ore can be mined in the Underground Jungle once all Mechanical Bosses are defeated. Luminite is exclusively dropped by Moon Lord, a Hardmode Boss, in stacks of 70-90 (90-110 in Expert Mode).
