How to Make the Lightning Rod
Lightning Rod in Minecraft is a new item that has been added in the 1.17 update. It is a copper thing. So, the first thing you need to do is to find copper ore in caves and mines. It looks like a usual stone block with clusters of orange and green pixels. You need to use a stone pickaxe to mine this ore and get 2-3 items named Raw Copper. Be careful while mining with a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch. It will make Copper Ore blocks drop instead of Raw Copper. So, you will get fewer recourses if you try to melt Ore blocks. Also, you can get up to 12 Raw Copper if you use a pickaxe with Fortune 3.

After mining, you need to return home, and melt Copper. You will get a Copper Ingot for each Raw Copper or Copper Ore block. Don’t forget to turn all your Ore blocks into Raw Copper by placing it and mining with a pickaxe without Silk Touch.
When you finally get your Copper smelted into Copper Ingots, you can use them to craft different things, like Block of Copper, Spyglass, and of course Lightning Rod. To craft Lightning Rod, you just need to put three Copper Ingots in the middle column of a crafting menu, then click on the crafted item and put it in inventory. That’s it.
