How to Get a Crossbow in Minecraft

The Crossbow is a ranged weapon in Minecraft which players can use to fire arrows or fireworks. It was added to the game with the Village & Pillage update. Players can get a crossbow by killing pillagers, by opening chests, or via crafting.

How to Get a Crossbow

The Crossbow is a craftable weapon. So to get a Crossbow in Minecraft, you have to gather the required materials and craft yourself a crossbow via the crafting menu.

Players need the following items to craft a crossbow in Minecraft –

• Iron Ingot X 1
• Sticks X 3
• Strings X 2
• Tripwire Hook X 1

Once you have all the materials, open the crafting menu and add the items in the 3 X 3 grid as shown below.

After adding the items in the crafting grid, you will get the Crossbow weapon, which you can move to your inventory and then to your Hotbar.

How to Get Tripwire Hook

In Minecraft, players can craft a Tripwire Hook using an Iron Ingot, a Stick, and a single piece of any kind of plank.

You can make an iron ingot by smelting iron ore. All you need is fuel and a furnace. Stick and planks are easy to obtain and you might already have them. Once you have the required materials, add them in the same order as shown in the above screenshot. You will get two units of Tripwire Hook.
