Terraria is loaded with items that you can mix, match, and summon strange things. Just like Minecraft, Terraria lets you collect stuff and craft items. Additionally, players can summon events like solar eclipse into the game by using these items.
After beating the Plantera, you head towards the Jungle Temple. Here, you can craft a solar tablet and summon a solar eclipse.
Getting a Solar Tablet in Terraria
The solar tablet can be created by gathering fragments of the tablet. Once you enter the Jungle Temple, you will encounter Lihzahrds and Flying Snakes. Ambushing the foes might get you some solar fragments.
Usually, the Lihzahrd chests inside the temple also contain solar fragments along with other stuff.
You will need eight fragments for the eclipse. After you get enough solar fragments, head over to the Mythril Anvil or the Orichalcum Anvil to put together the fragments. Note that the tablet can only be crafted on hardmode anvils.
Additionally, a solar eclipse can only be summoned during the day and not at night.
Using the Solar Tablet
To beat the Golem in the Lihzahrd Temple, the Eye of Cthulhu is the best weapon. As this weapon can be obtained by summoning the solar eclipse, you should try to gather eight solar fragments before summoning the Golem.
Note that the conditions may differ from device to device. For Terraria Mobile, you have to defeat one mechanical boss to be able to summon the eclipse.
The solar eclipse lasts for a day in the game. During that time, random enemies spawn on the surface. You can avoid enemies by going underground. The eclipse also drops powerful weapons and items.
At the end of the eclipse, you will achieve the ‘Kill the Sun’ reward regardless of how many enemies you have destroyed. To survive the event easily, try to spawn an eclipse just before sunset.
