How to Play Clean Cut Challenge The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

They say all work and no play make Link a dull boy, but this doesn’t seem to be the case in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, as the game features a nice variety of mini-games that work great as a diversion from the main adventure. While these mini-games are completely optional, playing them will allow Link to obtain a lot of different items that can help him save the world once again.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Clean-Cut mini-game and the rewards you can get by playing it.

How to Play the Clean-Cut Challenge in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

The Clean-Cut Challenge can be played on Bamboo Island, which is located to the northeast of Skyloft. This mini-game is as straightforward as it can get, as you will need to cut a bamboo stalk as many times as possible before it falls to the ground. The more strikes you manage to hit, the better the rewards.

Clean-Cut Challenge Rewards

  • 0-14 Cuts – No rewards.
  • 15-19 Cuts – 30 Rupees.
  • 20-27 Cuts – Monster Horn or Evil Crystal.
  • 28 Cuts or more – Goddess Plume, Blue Bird Feather or Golden Skull.

How to be a Clean-Cut Challenge Master

Cutting the bamboo as many times as possible sounds easy on paper, but it’s much harder in reality. While you may be tempted to go for spinning sword strikes, they are not as effective, as swift horizontal strikes are way more effective since they also prevent the bamboo stalk from falling at a sharp angle. Pace your strikes correctly, and you will get all the rewards in no time at all!
