Pokemon Sword and Shield: How to Find and Catch Registeel

Pokemon Sword and Shield may not feature all of the Pokemon that have been seen in the series so far, but this doesn’t mean that the two games lack creatures to capture and train. Developer Game Freak, however, took note of players’ feedback following the game’s release, and expanded the Pokemon roster with The Crown Tundra expansion.

Among the Pokemon that have been introduced by the expansion is Registeel, a Generation III Steel-type Legendary Pokemon and one of the five Regis. Here’s where to find it.

How to Find and Catch Registeel

Registeel can be found inside the Iron Ruins, which are located near the top of Giant’s Bed. To reach the ruins, you need to leave Freezington from the side where Peony’s house is located and stay to the right as you make your way down. Eventually, you will find the ruins embedded into a cliffside.

The only way to enter the Iron Ruins is by its front door, which you will find closed. By interacting with it, you will learn that the door can be opened by solving a very simple riddle. After you have received the hint (Let ring the piercing note that will wake the giant of steel), all you need to do is press the left control stick and whistle.

Inside the Iron Ruins, you will notice several panels on the ground. Walk on them in any order to light them up and activate the statue. Interact with it and you will be able to fight Registeel. As this is a regular battle, you will be able to catch the Legendary Pokemon as if it were any regular Pokemon. Since this can be a tough battle, however, we suggest you save before facing Registeel in case you are defeated or if you fail to capture it with the Pokeballs you currently have on hand.
