How to Make More Money in Lethal Company | Tips & Guide

Learn the strategies on making lots of money in Lethal Company.

You have a strict quota to meet in Lethal Company, and you have to rummage through abandoned facilities to find valuable scrap to sell. If you’re having trouble meeting quotas, here are some tips on how to make more money in Lethal Company.

How to make lots of money efficiently in Lethal Company

As a short-term contractor for the company, you’ll need to meet your weekly quota to avoid permanent termination. Your quota starts off relatively low at first, but as you survive more and more weeks, the quotas get higher and higher, forcing you to be as efficient as possible. Here are some pointers for keeping your income sufficient.

Tip #1: Stick to the Easy Moons at the Beginning

The first five moons in Lethal Company are your main stomping grounds, and there are several reasons for this. Firstly, these moons are free to travel to, so you don’t have to worry about transport fees.

The last three moons are the high-tier moons, and while you can usually find some good scrap on them, they’re crawling with deadly creatures. Scrap means nothing if you can’t get it back to the company safely, so it’s best to stick with the first set of moons early on.

Once you get some more experience under your belt, consider exploring one of the last moons. Of course, make absolutely sure you’re prepared with the right tools, otherwise your chances of survival are slim.

As a side note, most of the weather conditions can make the moons much more dangerous, and they have no influence on how the scrap spawns will be. You should generally avoid moons that have extreme weather conditions.

Tip #2: Sell When the Company is Paying High

When you’re using the terminal to route to new moons, you can see what percentage the company is currently buying for. 100% is the normal and most common price, which means that you’re getting fair pay for all your items.

It’s important to keep checking the market percentage every day to watch for dramatic fluctuations. Sometimes, the market prices will drop, and the company buys at lower margins than usual. Conversely, the market prices can increase, and the company pays out more for your scrap. If you can, hang onto your scrap until the prices get good.

Waiting for the market prices is high-risk, high-reward. One day it might be high, but it might be even higher the next day… or lower. The amount of risk you want to take is up to you, but we recommend not to sell at 80% or below. Remember not to wait too long that you miss meeting your quota!

Tip #3: Different Scrap Are Worth Different Values

There’s a random assortment of scrap you can find in the abandoned buildings, and they can either be small, or large enough that you need both hands to carry it.

Generally speaking, the two-handed scrap is usually worth more. Of course, this isn’t the case with all scrap, so it’s a good idea to just bring back whatever you can find. We can’t afford to be picky in this space economy!

Just keep in mind that carrying two-handed scrap slows down your character significantly, so make sure someone has your back, because things can go south real fast if you get caught out.

Tip #4: Move Quickly and Efficiently

Time is money friend, and if you want to make a lot, you’ll need to be efficient with your time. As you’re landing on a moon, get on the terminal and use the “scan” command. This pings back exactly how much scrap is on the current moon, and how much it’s all worth.

Get in the habit of using the scan command every time you get back to the ship, as it can help you keep track of what’s left in the building. It’s also a great risk assessment tool, because if you know there’s only a couple scrap left, it’s probably not worth risking your life.

Tip #5: Designate Someone to Stay on the Ship

If you’re playing multiplayer, be sure to designate someone as the ship manager. They can use the ship’s monitors to help guide those who go into the building, pointing out nearby scrap and creatures.

If the situation gets out of hand and people start dropping like flies, the ship manager can high-tail it out of there with all the scrap in tow. If all team members die, ALL scrap is lost, which is why it’s so important to have someone stationed in the relatively (but not completely) safe ship.

Also, it’s good practice to exit the building, dump all your scrap on the ground, then head right back in to look for more. Don’t leave your scrap unattended inside the building, as Hoarding Bugs might steal them. Whoever is staying in the ship can come and run the scrap back to the ship while you explore for more, which is a very efficient way of handling the team’s time.
