Suika Game/ Watermelon Game is a highly popular puzzle game that follows a similar principle to Tetris. Your task is to combine fruits of the same kind into larger fruits until you reach the watermelon.

Types of Fruits in Suika Game

The first thing to understand about the Suika Game is the types of fruits. There are a total of 11 differently-sized fruits in the game:

  • Cherry
  • Strawberry
  • Grape
  • Orange
  • Persimmon
  • Apple
  • Pear
  • Peach
  • Pineapple
  • Melon
  • Watermelon

The fruits are listed here according to size, with the cherry being the smallest and the watermelon the largest. Only the five smallest fruits (cherry, strawberry, grape, orange, and persimmon) get dropped. Once two fruits of the same kind come into contact, they combine into the next bigger fruit.

How to Play Suika Game on PC?

Suika Game is available on several platforms, including the original Nintendo Switch version, various mobile versions, and a browser game. To play the game on a PC, you need to use the browser version. Essentially, it plays the same as other variants: You click on the fruit to drop it or drag it with your mouse to position it precisely.

It’s worth noting that Suika Game has a physics system that takes some getting used to. The in-game physics are logical, but might not always act as you expect. For instance, although several smaller fruits won’t move a larger one when they land, once two small fruits combine, the reaction might provide sufficient push.

This means you need to pay attention to how you stack the fruits. Keep in mind that the two same fruits can combine at any point. For instance, two apples can be held apart by a persimmon that’s adjacent to an orange. Suppose you drop an orange to make contact with the other one. In that case, all of the fruits would join in a chain until two persimmons form an apple.

Tips and Tricks

Here are a few useful tips to help you reach a better score in Suika Game:

  • Pay attention to the weight of the fruit—the bigger the fruits are, the more they weigh and press down on other puzzle pieces.
  • Plan how you’ll place and group fruits. If done right, you can set up chain reactions and clear some space at the same time, extending your game.
  • Avoid piling up fruits that will take ages to clear. Instead, try grouping one fruit kind with the next largest/smallest. This will help you declutter your board faster.
  • Dedicate a corner to fruits that don’t fit. If you have a drop that you can’t match with anything on the board, try stashing such pieces in one corner of the board. However, don’t do this right from the start—there’s usually a way to combine fruits better!

Where Can I play Suika Game?

Suika Game is available on iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, and PC. However, not all of those versions are actual variants of the game. Some are, in fact, fake, although they follow the same mechanism.

If you want to see the original version, you’ll have to access it on Nintendo Switch. Otherwise, you can try the browser version—a full Suika Game you can play exclusively online. Steam has a variant called My Suika, while the Play Store and App Store both have several versions of the Watermelon Game.
