Currently, there’s a glitch in LEGO Fortnite that lets you repair the durability of tools by using an exploit involving a Chest. Here’s how to do the Chest glitch in LEGO Fortnite.
How to Perform the Chest Glitch in LEGO Fortnite
DECEMBER 13 UPDATE: Just as we predicted, as of December 13, this glitch seems to have been patched out by a hotfix. Tools that pop out of broken Chests retain the durability they had going into the Chest, no longer automatically fixing durability. Sorry!
You may have discovered this on accident, but there’s currently a neat little glitch in LEGO Fortnite that lets you fully repair the durability of any weapon or tool without having to spend any resources!
To perform the aptly named “Chest glitch,” first craft any kind of storage container. The basic Small Chest will do just fine if that’s all you have, but anything works.
Next, place your damaged tools with low durability inside the chest. All you have to do now is simply break the Chest. Use your bare hands so you save the durability of your other tools.
Once the Chest explodes and all the items pour out, pick them back up and check their durability—they should now be fully repaired. You can do this as many times as you like, since you get all the Wood Planks needed to craft the Chest back.
However, there’s one caveat to this glitch. If you perform the Chest glitch on an item that has an Essence on it, like Essence of Damage or Durability, the Essence is lost. The item’s durability is still restored, but you lose the Essence in the progress.
Since some of the higher rarity tools can be quite expensive to replace, the Chest glitch is a helpful little exploit. Be sure to take advantage of it while you can, because there’s a very good chance it’s going to be fixed in the immediate future.
That’s all you need to know about the Chest glitch in LEGO Fortnite. If you have any questions about the process, let us know in the comments below, and check out the rest of our LEGO Fortnite coverage.
