Flexwood is the third tier of wood resources in LEGO Fortnite, and it’s the stepping stone that lets you start crafting the high-end Pickaxes, Shields, and other tools. Here’s how to get Flexwood in LEGO Fortnite.
How to Chop Down Cactus and Get Flexwood in LEGO Fortnite
Flexwood is an important resource in LEGO Fortnite, as not only do you need for certain tools, you’ll also need some for various building machines and even the trusty Glider. Flexwood itself isn’t needed in most recipes, but the Flexwood Rods you can refine them into are, so here’s where you can find some Flexwood.
To get started, locate your nearest Dry Valley biome. Flexwood is found by chopping down a cactus in the Dry Valley, so we’ll show you how to do that.
The Dry Valley biome is the quintessential desert biome, full of scorching hot days and freezing cold nights. There’s no real way to search for biomes in LEGO Fortnite yet, so you simply have to wander around until you stumble upon a Dry Valley. Keep an eye on your map—once you start seeing brown, you’re near a Dry Valley.
Now, you have to craft yourself a Rare Forest Axe, which requires 3 Knotroot Rods and 5 Cut Ambers. Knotroot Wood can be found within Grasslands Caves, and the Rough Amber can be found within the Dry Valley itself. Once you pick up Rough Amber, the Gem Cutter recipe unlocks, which allows you to turn the Rough Amber into Cut Amber.
Once you’ve crafted your Rare Forest Axe, it’s time to get to chopping! See all those prickly cacti scattered about the Dry Valley? Chopping those down yields Flexwood, so cut them all down with your shiny new Rare Forest Axe.
