The Best Characters in DNF Duel

Since its launch, DNF Duel has received several balance patches over time, drastically changing the game’s meta around several times. As of the latest patch (1.40), there are two stand-out fighters that can be considered to be the best in the game.

Ranger

The Ranger is a medium-range zoner who excels at completely shutting down his foes. Thanks to patch 1.40, many of his normals have been enhanced with more hitstop, easier cancelling, and reduced damage scaling.

By applying his tools correctly, good Rangers can keep you locked down in their sweet spot, allowing them to keep the pressure on with lots of bullets and capitalizing on any openings you might give them.

Striker

The fast and deadly Striker has always been a solid choice since day one, but she’s stronger than ever now with patch 1.40. With fast normals and fantastic mix-ups, Striker can get in quick and pile on the pressure with little to no gaps in her attacks.

Her lightning fast strikes will always keep your opponent guessing, as she has multiple angles of approach. All of these factors combined with her fast-paced play style make her a force to be reckoned with in the hands of a skilled player.

DNF Duel Tier List

Here’s a complete tier list for DNF Duel. Before you read it, we have to reiterate that this list is not set in stone. If you enjoy playing a character who is low-tier, do not let their tier placement stop you from enjoying the character. In the end, you’re only as strong as how comfortable you are with a character.

This tier list is also up-to-date as of the 1.40 patch. If you’re familiar with the DNF Duel meta, you may recognize some characters that were once nightmares have been pegged down a notch, like Swift Master, thanks to the latest balance changes. Also, Battle Mage is the newest DLC character who recently came out a week ago, so we don’t have enough competitive data on her yet to rank her.
