LEGO Fortnite version 28.30 adds some new exploration tools that all adventurers should have, including a trusty Compass and Spyglass. You need glass to make these items, so here’s how to get glass in LEGO Fortnite.
Guide to Making Glass in LEGO Fortnite
What raw material do you need to make glass? That’s right, sand! We can’t dig up sand with our bare hands, so we’re going to have to make a Shovel first.
Like all the other tools in LEGO Fortnite, the Shovel comes in four different rarities; the higher tier Shovels can find additional resources and have stronger durability. To craft a Shovel, go to your local Workbench with the following materials:
- Common Shovel: Wooden Rod x 3, Plank x 1
- Uncommon Shovel: Knotroot Rod x 3, Plank x 1
- Rare Shovel: Copper Bar x 3
- Epic Shovel: Iron Bar x 3
Next, you need to go to any Dry Valley biome, which are the quintessential desert biomes. Equip your Shovel, then dig anywhere you see sand, and you should get, well, Sand! To refine the Sand, go to your Metal Smelter. One piece of Glass requires 2 Sand and 1 Brightcore.
Brightcore is found exclusively inside the Lava Caves, which are the caves that generate within desert biomes. Brightcore usually spawns around lava pools, and you’ll need a Rare Pickaxe or better to mine them. Check out our guide on how to get Copper Bars in LEGO Fortnite for more details.
Glass, as of writing, is used exclusively to craft the new navigation tools, the Compass, its upgraded version, the Survival Compass, and the Spyglass. The Compass adds directions to the top of your screen, and the Spyglass lets you observe distant lands.
- Basic Compass: Glass x 2, Wolf Claw
- Survival Compass: Glass x 5, Sand Claw, Copper Bar
- Spyglass: Glass x 4, Knotroot Rod
