Complete Guide to the Tortured Artist Challenge in BitLife

After last week’s dark Pushing Roses challenge, we were ready for a more lighthearted challenge. This Tortured Artist challenge isn’t quite what we were looking for, but hey, at least there’s no murder involved! For the Tortured Artist challenge, we need to complete the following objectives:

• Be born a female in Illinois
• Become a painter
• Insult 5+ different people
• Recover from an alcohol addiction
• Troll 5+ people on social media after they’ve trolled you

How to be Born a Female in Illinois

Start up BitLife, then start a new life. Any lives already in progress will be saved and can be picked up at any time, so don’t worry about losing any progress.

Set your name to whatever you want, then set your gender to female. Set your country to United States, and the place to Chicago to start your life in the state of Illinois.

How to Become a Painter

The early years of your life don’t really matter, but once you graduate high school and get to university, make sure to choose Art History as your major. If it doesn’t appear on the drop-down list of majors, simply wait a year and check again.

Study hard and do well in university, and then start looking for a job once you graduate. With your Art History degree, you’ll start seeing art-related jobs, so keep check until you see a painter job. Apply to the job as soon as you see it, and once you secure it, you’re done with this objective. Make sure to work hard because if you lose the job for any reason, this objective fails.

How to Insult 5+ different people

Time to put on your bad side and start insulting people like no tomorrow. For this objective, you need to insult at least five different people. Insulting the same person over and over again will only count once.

To insult a person, go into any menu where you can select other people, whether it be your family, friends, classmates, or co-workers. Tap on them to open another menu, and scroll down and select the Insult action.

It’s best to get this one out of the way early, to avoid any long-lasting consequences. As we were going through elementary school, we insulted classmates that we already had naturally low relationships with.

This is usually the best way to insult a bunch of different people. At worst you might get attacked by the classmate, but usually you just have to report to the principal or teacher, in which case all you need to do is apologize.

How to Recover from an Alcohol Addiction

Time to get our drink on! Go into the Activities menu, and scroll down and select Nightlife. Choose any of the three clubs, it doesn’t matter which. Someone may offer you a drink at the club, so be sure to accept it. Repeat this process until you get the notification that you are addicted to alcohol.

Now that you’re addicted to alcohol, open the Activities menu again and scroll down to Rehab. Go to a Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, then check yourself into a Rehab Center. Spring for the luxury program if you can afford it, as this has a higher chance of curing your addiction. If you’re still addicted after rehab, age up a year, and try again.

Keep in mind that this objective may be easier to complete before you get a job. You have to get clearance from your job if you’re currently employed and you want to check yourself into rehab, and they may not always say yes.

How to Troll 5+ people on Social Media after they’ve Trolled you

Now that we’re out of rehab, it’s time to wreck havoc on social media people. If you haven’t already, join any social media platform by going into Activities and then Social Media. It helps to join as many as you can.

Select any of the social media platforms, and do something random like Post or Promote. You may encounter someone who replies to your post with a nasty comment, so select the Troll them back action. Do this five times and the objective is done!

This objective may take a while depending how lucky you are, so don’t give up and keep posting. It might also help to buy some followers, as this increases your engagement chance. We’re not sure if being targeted by trolls is completely up to chance, but we’ve noticed that we were targeted more often when posting divisive content, such as political videos.

However you decide to go about your trolling way, make sure that you don’t accidentally troll the same person twice. Doing so is a quick way to get your social media account banned, which makes this objective a whole lot tougher. And whatever you do, never meet up with trolls in person, if you value your life!
