The Pokemon Company recently released a video on all of their social media handles for Pokemon Legends: Arceus, driving fans worldwide insane! This eerie video introduces two unexpected, yet welcomed additions to the Hisui’s regional variants: Hisuian Zorua and Hisuian Zoroark.
The initial video which was released was more of a teaser-style video. In that. a researcher can be seen recording his time exploring a snowy forest. He spots an unfamiliar Pokemon and begins describing it: adorable, fluffy white fur around its neck, a red and swaying tail-tip; all this along with static engulfing the entire video.
On the following day, The Pokemon Company released a ‘restored’ version of the video, where it was revealed that the Pokemon which were obscurely shown in the previous teaser, were Hisuian Zorua and Hisuian Zoroark. After this, another video was released showcasing brief gameplay for the two new Pokemon.
Following this series of videos, it was announced that the Hisuian variants of Zorua and Zoroark are going to adopt the elusive Normal/Ghost typing! As if announcing regional variants for the Zorua line wasn’t enough, now they tell us they’re giving them a dope typing!
The Normal/Ghost typing is very exciting for a number of reasons:
- A never-seen before, unique typing
- Possesses only a SINGLE weakness: the Dark type
- Blessed with THREE immunities: Normal, Fighting, and Ghost
Whether you are a casual player or are a competitive one, this has got to be exciting nonetheless. As we know, regional variants of Pokemon have the same base stat numbers but can possess different stat distributions. So, the Hisuian Zorua line can be much more than a fast and frail attacker, unlike its Unovan counterpart.
Along with other exciting new Pokemon reveals like Hisuian Growlithe, Basculegion, Kleavor, and more, the land of Hisui seems to keep on giving. Pokemon Legends: Arceus releases January 28th, so mark your calendars, folks!
