Pikmin Bloom is part of the Pikmin game series developed by Niantic and Nintendo. The augmented reality based game for IOS and Android is designed to encourage people to walk around their community. Pikmin Bloom uses the mobile device’s GPS and in-built step counter to monitor the player’s movement and grow Pikmin or find Fruits.
Walking, collecting resources, and growing Pikmin, increases the player’s level which unlocks additional features such as Expeditions and challenges, and eventually unlocks all the Pikmin types: Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, White, Rock, Winged, and Decor Pikmin. Pikmin sent on Expeditions gather resources such as Seedlings and Fruits.
The Seedlings grow into Pikmin and the Fruits turn into Nectar of different colours: Regular, Yellow, Red, Blue. The Nectar is then fed to the Pikmin to make them bloom Petals which are used to plant flowers as you walk, leaving behind a pretty path of blooms. Growing flowers also boosts the growth of the Pikmin Seedlings.
Pikmin Bloom Resources Upgrade Caps
There are upgrades available to purchase with real money, increasing how many Petals, Nectar, Pikmin, or Seedlings you can hold. Each upgrade increases storage of Nectar, Pikmin, and Petals by 50 per colour, and the number of Seedlings by 5 but these upgrades are not unlimited.
Resource | Max Upgrade Cap |
Petals | 1,000 |
Nectar | 1,000 |
Seedlings | 100 |
Pikmin | 2,000 |
To be upgraded to the maximum amount for each resource would cost almost $160 (£118). Currently the max level cap is at 60 but this may change in the future.
