All differences between Dead Space Remake and the original
Here are some significant differences between Dead Space Remake and the original that we saw during our playthrough, including new possibilities and details that were missing from the previous version of the game.
Characters are more fleshed out
Unlike the original Dead Space, the remake has more fleshed-out characters. Chen and Johnston, who play little to no part in the original title, now have a voice and feel more like teammates you lose early on in the game.

The same can be seen with your other teammates, Hammond and Daniels. Their voice acting feels more original than before, and their interactions feel more natural. You can even see the effect of The Marker on Hammond.
Isaac now has a new face and voice
In the original game, Isaac had no voice. But now, he is voiced by the American film actor Gunner Wright—the character is even modeled after Wright.
A better version of USG Ishimura
The USG Ishimura now has a nuanced design, with some areas, like the Centrifuge Room and others, being completely revamped for the remake.
Power Nodes no longer are used to open doors
In the original game, you could use Power Nodes to open doors, but now that has been changed. You can use the items to get different access levels, re-route power, destroy circuit breakers, and other such things.
Secret ending
Dead Space Remake now has a secret ending, “a bad one,” which you can unlock in the New Game Plus mode.
NPC interactions and their endings
Some of the NPC interactions and their endings have been completely changed. For example, this time, Elisabeth Cross is alive and plays a significant role in the game’s story.
Did you know? Now we have side missions
The original game didn’t offer any side missions. But with Dead Space Remake, we now have Side Missions that tell you the part of the Dead Space lore that was never said in the original. It also encourages players to explore Ishimura more than before.
Replayability
You can now use Tram Stations to explore USG Ishimura at your will. Previously, you only followed a linear story, clearing chapters and moving forward. Now, you can revisit the different parts of Ishimura, unlock doors locked behind different security levels, complete different achievements, and more.
Story difficulty mode
Dead Space Remake now features a Story Mode that allows even the most inexperienced players to jump into the game without worrying about dying all the time.
In this mode, you regenerate health, can almost one-shot or two-shot enemies, kill bosses faster, deal more damage to enemies while taking less damage from them, and so on.

A visual and gameplay remake
Dead Space Remake completely changed how the game looked and played before. Everything is now more detailed and fleshed out than before, and you can almost cut any limbs of an enemy.
Another Leviathan fight? Why not? Bring it on!
With Dead Space Remake, you now fight the Leviathan boss two times. The first fight takes place in the Food Storage in the Hydroponics, and the second battle takes place near the Communication Array.
