All Roles in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires

In Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires, you are able to shape the history of ancient China in any way you desire, helping your favorite rules to unify the kingdom or become that ruler yourself.

As such, you are able to play different roles during each of the Conquest Mode story scenarios. Here are all of the roles available in the game.

All Roles in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires

Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires lets you take on different roles, which come with different perks but also different responsibilities. These are Unaffiliated, Common Officer, General, Grand General, and Ruler.

Unaffiliated characters are those who haven’t sworn allegiance to any ruler, and thus can choose to align themselves with any faction, or build their own. While what unaffiliated characters can do is extremely limited, this is a role that only those with good knowledge of the game’s mechanics should pick, as it is easy to mess up things without proper guidance.

Common Officers are only a step above regular foot soldiers. They do have command of them, but outside of this, they cannot really influence how their kingdom is governed. This is, however, a good role to learn how a kingdom is ruled by observing what the ruler of your faction does.

Generals are a definite step above the Common Officers, as they do command more troops. Outside of this, the other main difference is that Generals can further get promoted to Grand Generals, which is where the real fun in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires begins.

Grand Generals or Tacticians are only a step below the rulers, and are capable of influencing how the kingdom is governed. During War Councils, they can propose Kingdom Objectives, which the ruler will often approve, allowing you to pretty much play as the rule even without formally being one.

Rulers are at the top of the food chain in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires. They have complete freedom to decide how the kingdom is ruled, and have the power to refuse suggestions from their generals. If you play your cards right being a Grand General, it won’t take long for you to become the ruler of your faction, the man of destiny that will unify China!
