This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

The Angry Birds series is one of the more successful video games series released in recent times, thanks to an engaging gameplay experience and features that make the games perfect to be played on the go. Despite the series’ enormous success, the original Angry Birds never received a proper sequel but only several spin-off titles which improved the original’s experience without drastically altering it.

Now it seems like Rovio is done with the Angry Birds spin-off games, as the real Angry Birds 2 has been announced this week. With a surprising move, the publisher has also confirmed that Angry Birds 2 will be released later this month, on July 30th, so it won’t take long to see what the team has added to the series’ formula.

No actual gameplay details are currently available on Angry Birds 2 and only a simple teaser trailer has been made available. Judging from it, it seems like Angry Birds 2 will deal with boxes and piggies, which doesn’t really tell us anything. Apparently more on the game is going to be coming on July 28th but surely more details will start coming even sooner.

Angry Birds 2 will be released on the App Store on July 30th. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more comes in on it so stay tuned for all the latest news.
