The popular battle royale game Apex Legends has been going strong since its release, and soon enough, Nintendo Switch owners will be able to join in the fun with the first handheld version of the game. A mobile version of the game is also in development, and now we may have learned who is working on it.
A report from IGN India suggests that Apex Legends Mobile is currently in development by Tencent with the supervision of Respawn Entertainment, the developer of the PC and console version. According to the same report, Apex Legends Mobile is supposedly releasing in the third quarter of 2021.
Unofrtunately, there is still very little we currently know about the game. Given the limitations of mobile devices, it is unlikely that Apex Legends Mobile will feature cross-platform play with the PC and console versions. Like for PUBG, Apex Legends Mobile could be a stand-alone experience featuring the same features of the main version, but with a completely different ecosystems.
Apex Legends Mobile is currently in development for iOS and Android. A release date has yet to be announced.
