In this long-awaited Avalanche Software game set in the Harry Potter universe, there is so much to do that you may wonder early on: are there any missable quests in Hogwarts Legacy? This question looms even larger when you know that you will be sorted into one Hogwarts house and won’t be able to visit any other common rooms.

This guide brings you all the answers about missable main and side quests, so let’s dive in to satisfy the completionist in you!

Are there any missable main quests in Hogwarts Legacy?

The answer to that question is yes, there are, but only sort of. Relatively early in the game, you will need to find the ghost of Richard Jackdaw, who can help you continue your search for the missing book pages that are central to the story.

However, the quest that precedes Jackdaw’s Rest is quite different depending on your house. Gryffindors need to ask Nearly Headless Nick for help and deal with the Headless Hunt; Ravenclaws have to explore the clues about a possibly stolen wand; Slytherins get introduced to Jackdaw by a house elf; and Hufflepuffs get to visit Azkaban and see the dementors and the Patronus spell in action. Still, the outcome is the same: you will meet Jackdaw, who takes you on your first visit to the Forbidden Forest.

It is also worth noting that there are four different, house-tied trophies that unlock after you find the Map Chamber. To get all four achievements and experience all versions of the quest with Richard Jackdaw, you have to replay the game three more times, each as a student of a different Hogwarts house.

Are there any missable side quests in Hogwarts Legacy?

Hogwarts Legacy has loads of side quests that you receive from different NPCs scattered all over the school and the wider area. They unlock gradually as you progress with the main storyline, and often have level requirements or need you to finish some specific main quest before you can start the side mission.

The good news is that all side quests become available after you finish the main campaign, and none are missable, regardless of your Hogwarts house or any other aspect of the game—none except for one. PS4 and PS5 owners have access to an exclusive quest called “Minding Your Own Business,” which will become available on other platforms too, but only one year after the official release.

As the fans of the game are still uncovering all its secrets, let us know in the comments if you find any missable collectibles, NPCs, or quests, and we will update our article accordingly. For more assistance with the game, feel free to explore our section dedicated to Hogwarts Legacy.
