Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy introduces many changes to the mechanics seen in the original to deliver a much more engaging experience. Among the changed mechanics are the ones that power shops, which now make them more strictly related to Alchemy and Gathering mechanics. The new mechanics will also make you earn more money that can be used in a variety of ways.
There is also a new rating system for shops that will let you get better items and increase their inventory. The rating system is also tied to some of the other mechanics, and knowledge of the item system will prove to be invaluable to improve your shop rating and get access to better and better items over the course of the game.
Unlocking Romy’s Store
Before being able to develop your rating for shops, you will have to unlock Romy’s Store. To do so, you will have to enter the Mausoleum of Eternity in the Valley of Winds and proceed through the ruins until you experience the memories and fragments event. Once this is done, you will have to go back to your atelier and check your map: you should see a new face icon near the Central District. If this doesn’t happen, pass some time and try again.
Once the icon appears, head to its location to reunite with Romy. She will tell Ryza about the shop and ask her to visit, which you should as soon as you can. After going to Romy’s shop for the first time, wait for a day to pass and check the map for another face icon. Head over there, trigger the event and then pass some more time by taking on requests, synthesize items or travel around. After some time has passed, the next part of Romy’s story should unlock: head over to her shop and you will finally be able to sell items.
Increasing the Rating
Once you have unlocked the ability to sell items to Romy, you can finally start working on improving the rating. All you need to do is sell items: each and every item will count. What you should be really looking out for is the item’s quality: the higher the quality, the higher the rating will increase. So discover more recipes, invest some time into Alchemy and you will soon be able to unlock more items to purchase and use during your adventure.
