This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Augmented Reality is still in its infancy, but things are getting better over time, with developers starting to take advantage of it more and more in creative ways. Today, a very interesting AR game managed to catch our interest, the Escape Room game Scriptum.

Scriptum does exactly what one would expect it to do: presenting an escape room experience through Augmented Reality. The concept is incredibly interesting and it does work nicely.

In Scriptum, players will have to solve a few different puzzles to escape. Puzzles are very simple at the moment, and most players will be able to clear them out before the 15 minutes time limit expires. Still, the concept is very interesting.

At the beginning of the game, players will have to scan the floor, generating the room from which they have to escape. After this, puzzles will appear alongside hints. It’s a very simple concept, as already stated, but it’s well-crafted.

Being a completely free game, with no ads and no in-app purchases, don’t expect to play Scriptum for a very long time, however.

Scriptum is available for download for free on the App Store.
