Clash Royale is a free-to-play real-time strategy video game developed and published by Supercell. The game combines elements from collectible card games, tower defense, and multiplayer online battle arena. The game was released globally on March 2, 2016.
With most of the game’s features being pretty user-friendly, some aspects of it may get challenging for new gamers. In times like this, we have you covered!
Beginner Tips
There are a few general tips that players can follow. Being very similar to card games, players get six cards in the beginning, namely Archers, Knights, Bomber, Giant, Arrows, and Fireball, with each card type having its own advantages. To make winning battles easier, it would be best for players to maintain a balance between attacking, defending, and timing. Finding a balance between these three aspects is integral to early victories.
To start off, the active deck will contain four cards, with another on the way. If those cards are all to the player’s liking, then they can proceed to the tips listed below.
Tip 1: Wisely Spending Elixirs
Utilizing elixirs efficiently is critical to winning. In the beginning, calculating the elixir usage per card is essential in order to get used to the cards being played.
At the same time, the opponent will be doing the same thing, so players timing their elixir usage properly will always have the upper hand. There is no trick to this—the more the player plays the game, the better they will get at elixir management. Experience is key.
Tip 2: Learning to Kite
Kiting is a strategy that requires some amount of patience from the player. To do this, the player will have to wait for the opponent’s move, preferably baiting their opponent into playing a card or using their move first.
Upon doing so, the player can ambush them by springing their troops on the battlefield to direct the damage to them instead, thereby mitigating any huge losses.
Tip 3: Efficient Counter-Attacking
Unlike the other two, this strategy requires the player to have decent timing and a degree of patience to execute this.
Once the opponent uses their hand, their elixir supply will be running low. Sensing this opportunity, the player needs to use this time to counter the opponent. Counter attacking would involve the player spending most of their elixir accumulated, while waiting for their opponent’s attacks, on a bunch of cheap cards and abilities, destroying their opponent’s forces before they generate enough elixir to back them up.
Another way of dealing with this would be to use tank cards like the Giant. Releasing the Giant in front of your troops or tower would ensure he will absorb all of the enemy’s aggression while your troops finish them off!
