Beginner Tips in Raid: Shadow Legends

RAID: Shadow Legends is a fantasy-themed, turn-based role-playing Gacha game. The story of the game takes place in the fictional kingdom of Teleria, where the Dark Lord Siroth resides after conquering it. The player takes on the role of a resurrected Ancient Champion whose objective is to restore peace and harmony in Teleria by raising an army and defeating Siroth.

The game heavily relies on its Champions, of which there are a whopping 400+! This might leave a lot of new players feeling confused and intimidated by all of the Champion choices and new features being thrown at them after subsequent level-ups. Worry not, for we will provide basic tips to start out with!

Beginner Tips

While the game is generally newbie-friendly with its intricate tutorial system and starting quests, that is where it generally ends. The game does not entirely hold the player’s hand throughout the rest of it, and this is where we come in to help.

Choosing a Champion

Depending on the player’s choice, the early game could be a breeze if the right Starter Champion is chosen. In our opinion, either Athel or Kael would be great starting choices, because they are great farming Champions that can be upgraded fairly early. They can be the staple farming Champion till better Champions are acquired later.

Missions

The base goal of the game is to progress through missions and get stronger. For optimal results, players should stick to the highest level that they can auto-battle and complete till they farm up better gear for the harder levels yet to come.

The missions come in various difficulties. So, upon finishing all 12 chapters in Normal, players can try them again in Hard and Brutal difficulties for more of a challenge and better rewards.

Other Activities

Once the player has a hang of the main story quests, there are a good amount of activities in the game that the player can run through for additional exp, gold and gear. Some of them are:

  • Clan Boss: A mini raid boss where the player has to deal as much damage as possible along with their clan members to defeat the boss.
  • Dungeons: Specific levels which pose more of a challenge and require certain team compositions to clear.
  • Arena: PvP battle against other human players.

Each of these features provides a unique experience for players as well as varying rewards, so get to grinding and most importantly, have fun!
