The Best Controllers to use with CoD Mobile

Call of Duty: Mobile supports most modern controllers. When it comes to third-party controllers, most of them work fine despite the in-game manual saying that support can be limited.

For this list, we went after the best controllers rated by quality, build, feel, and ergonomics. You’ll want a good controller if you’re aiming to get better, and if you want to do the intense stuff like dueling someone one-on-one, a controller is practically required.

Something to keep in mind is that Call of Duty: Mobile has different matchmaking depending on your input method. Touch screen users will only match with other touch screen users, and controller users will also only get matched with other controller users. With that out of the way, let’s check out the best controllers for CoD Mobile in 2024.

Xbox One/Series X|S Controllers

The Xbox series controllers are officially supported by Call of Duty: Mobile, meaning that they should work perfectly fine straight out of the box, and all the in-game settings are accurately reflected through the controller’s physical controls.

The Xbox Series X|S controllers are our personal favorite controllers to use, mainly because we prefer our thumb sticks to be on different lateral planes. If you prefer the opposite, then you’ll probably like the PlayStation controllers better.

The Xbox controllers are just good controllers all-around, and although they’re prone to stick drift like most modern controllers, they’re pretty sturdy and should last you some time.

PlayStation Dualshock 4/DualSense Controllers

The PlayStation 4 and 5’s controllers are also natively supported by Call of Duty: Mobile, which means they should work seamlessly, just like the Xbox controllers.

The PlayStation 5’s DualSense controllers are the latest version of the PlayStation controllers, so we recommend those if you have them lying around. If you don’t, the PlayStation 4 Dualshock 4 controllers work fine as well.

The PlayStation controllers function pretty similarly to the Xbox controllers, with the main difference being that the thumb sticks are on the same plane. Aside from that, they’re pretty similar in terms of build quality and feel.

Backbone One Controller

The Backbone One controller is the only third-party controller that is officially supported by Call of Duty: Mobile. The Backbone One is a very high-quality controller with a support backing that lets you rest your device in-between the controller halves.

The Backbone One is probably one of the best controllers specifically designed for mobile devices thanks to the slot in the middle and its sturdy build, similar to the Xbox and PlayStation controllers. Though it’s a bit pricey compared to the other controllers, it’s worth it every penny.

The Backbone One is compatible with just about anything. You can choose between the Xbox or PlayStation button layouts, and lightning or USB-C connectors. If you’re set on the Backbone One, make sure you pick the connector that is compatible with your mobile device!

Razer Kishi V2

The Razer Kishi V2 is another third-party controller, but it’s not officially supported by Call of Duty: Mobile. That doesn’t mean that it won’t work, in fact it does, and it’s actually one of the most popular controller options for mobile gamers.

The Razer Kishi V2 is a highly ergonomic controller designed for mobile devices. The two controllers halves are collapsible when they’re not in use, and you can extend them to fit your phone. When you’re ready to game, the Razer Kishi V2 plugs directly into your device, similarly to the Backbone One.

Also similar to the Backbone One, the Razer Kishi V2 comes in two different versions that have different connectors. Ensure that you’re buying the one that’s compatible with your device.

Those are the best controllers when it comes to not just playing Call of Duty: Mobile, but mobile gaming in general. Which controllers do you like the most Is there a controller you like that’s not on this list? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
