Ever since the release of the first Dead Space game in 2008, the franchise didn’t take long to pick up, thanks to its captivating and suspense-filled story. And now, EA has developed a Dead Space Remake that’s designed for high-end PCs and current-gen gaming consoles. In this article, we’ll be going over the best difficulty to choose in Dead Space Remake.

Best difficulty to choose in Dead Space Remake

The original Dead Space game had different achievements that players could earn after completing each chapter, regardless of the difficulty level they chose to play. The remake, however, does come with a tweak or two in how the difficulty levels are designed.

Below are the game’s difficulty levels:

Select-Difficult-Setting-TTP
  • Story: This difficulty level will see your character Isaac deal much more damage to opponents while taking little damage, and his oxygen tank will last much longer. He heals automatically and easily escapes enemy grappling attacks as well. If you simply want to enjoy the game’s narrative and have a smooth sailing experience, then go for this difficulty level.
  • Easy: This difficulty level is recommended for beginners that are new to the game franchise or survival horror genre as a whole. Choose this option if you want to experience the story and battle easy-to-kill enemies.
  • Medium: Both the enemies and Isaac deal and take similar damage. Choose this option if you’re not afraid to take on a bit of a challenge.
  • Hard: Enemies are stronger and take little damage, while Isaac takes lots of damage. Choose this option if you’ve been playing the Dead Space games for a long time and if you’re no stranger to the monstrosities that you’ll come across.
  • Impossible: This mode has the same damage settings as Hard, but autosave is disabled and you only have one save slot and one life. So if you die in this difficulty level, it prompts a complete restart or allows you to continue playing on Hard instead.

These are the difficulty levels you can choose from in Dead Space Remake. In this game, your initial playthrough will determine your overall playthrough experience, because the difficulty may change things like damage, enemy behavior, healing, and even number of save slots.

Dead Space Remake is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
