Dead by Daylight is a survival horror asymmetric multiplayer online game released for Microsoft Windows and Steam in June 2016, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in June 2017, Nintendo Switch in September 2019, iOS and Android in April 2020, Stadia in October 2020, and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in November 2020.
The game has now officially been released on iOS and Android for free. Players take on the roles of both killer and survivor in a deadly game of hide and seek, choosing from an extensive roster of licensed and original characters. Every game takes place on a different map and there are some maps more liked than others.
These are the top five maps in Dead by Daylight:
Rank 5: Crotus Prenn Asylum
Crotus Prenn Asylum is a forest map with a unique attraction to it: The Circus. maps have been the original environments of the game and therefore provide all the basic necessities that both the Killer and Survivors need.
There are various L and T walls, pallets, and hiding places for Survivors to survive and juke as well as loop around. The playing field is considered about even as Killers do much better in an outdoor map.
Rank 4: Autohaven Wreckers
Autohaven Wreckers is one of the original, classic maps of Dead By Daylight since the PC days. It provides relatively equal opportunity matches for Survivors and Killers. Plenty of junk to loop and hide around for the Survivors. There are also some benefits for the Killer too, like a hidden bell that rings whenever someone walks over its wiring, giving quite an audible alert.
Rank 3: Red Forest
Another classic map from the PC version, Red Forest leans more towards benefitting Killers with traps and those who can camouflage in large grass. It is a darker map with lots of trees and grass, making for easy hiding. Bear Traps and Phantasm Traps are also very easy to hide here.
Rank 2: Coldwind Farm
Coldwind Farm is another basic map that everyone can benefit from. The tall grass can help Survivors hide or even show Killers if there is someone already in the fields as they move when a player walks in them. Whereas, a Killer with throwable items or speed can actually make it more challenging.
Rank 1: Macmillan Estate
The top ranking in this list goes to Macmillan Estate. It is one of the original maps that everyone has memorized by this point, making it a fair option for Survivors and Killers alike. Depending on the experience level of the players involved, it can pose as boring or less thrilling, but it has all the ingredients for a good chase and a lot of chances of potential success for both parties.
This map again has L and T walls and various hiding spots for the Survivors, and is also bright and spacious, aiding the Killer.
