Gold and Elixir Farming

The best time to earn Gold and Elixir quickly is by raiding leagues you’ve already completed. Gold and Elixir don’t become too valuable of a resource until later in the game, after you’ve already established a large base and many army stacks. Once you have upgraded to TH9 or TH10, you will need Gold and Elixir more than ever.

Gold League players can only invade other Gold League players, and Silver League players can only invade Silver League players at each level. You’ll want to power-up your army (and your hero, if you have one) before attempting to farm. Once you’ve reached Gold League, drop into the lower leagues by following these methods:

1. Attack enemy bases with only a unit or two—Archers, Barbarians, or any other cheap unit. Attack, then quickly surrender. Failing will lose you about 20 trophies.
2. Town Halls are at the core of your base, so make sure to place plenty of unimportant structures outside your walls. This way, invaders will focus on earning the League Bonus. You’ll have to sacrifice some of your buildings no matter what now.
3. Place your preferred resources at the center or near-center of your base, surrounded by plenty of walls. Lots of your farmed resources should go back into walls to keep your collectors or mines well-protected.
4. Get demoted, and bring your high-level units with you to raid those lower-tiered bases.
5. Now work on increasing your league to farm gold and elixir in abundance.

Dark Elixir Farming

Dark Elixir farming can be done through a variety of ways:

• Dark Elixir drills can be built when players reach Town Hall 7. It produces Dark Elixir, and is its primary source. Production rises as it is upgraded and players can use gems to boost Dark Elixir drill production.
• When Dark Barrack troops die after a base is attacked, they form a tombstone. These tombstones have a certain amount of Dark Elixir in them which can be collected by simply tapping on the tombstone, receiving one Dark Elixir from one Dark Tombstone.
• Attacking a base with Town Hall 7 or above in Clanwar provides players with Dark Elixir as a winning bonus. The amount of Dark Elixir depends on the level of the base a player attacks. The higher the base, the more the Dark Elixir.
