Bloodstained Ritual Of The Night is an excellent Metroidvania game and the long awaited comeback of Koji Igarashi, the creator of the Castlevania series. While the game plays the same on all formats, the Nintendo Switch version of the game is clearing the worst due to a lot of technical issues which make the game not as enjoyable as it is on other platforms.

While the development is working hard on fixing it, it seems like many of the issues plaguing the game were unforeseen. Speaking with Game Informer, Koji Igarashi revealed that many of the technical issues were unexpected, as the team was more concerned about the hardware limitations. He also reiterated that work is proceeding on improving the Nintendo Switch version.

While there were concerns over hardware limitations, we didn’t expect it to be as bad when it was released. Unfortunately, a number of problems occurred that we didn’t foresee. With WayForward’s support, these issues are being addressed, and they are working hard to optimize the Switch version.

Earlier this month, the development team highlighted some of the changes that will be coming to the Nintendo Switch version. In particular, the team is looking for visual effects that are taxing on the system and changing them to similar effects that won’t impact performance too much.

Bloodstained Ritual Of The Night is now available on Nintendo Switch as well as on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
