Can You Catch Spiritomb After Killing it in Pokemon Legends Arceus? – Answered

Another element that sets Pokemon Legends: Arceus apart from the rest of the Pokemon game series is the ability to capture special Pokemon more than once. Spiritomb, a Ghost-type special Pokemon, is available as your reward for completing Request 22: Eerie Apparitions. After collecting all the wisps, there is a chance to catch Spiritomb, and while in previous games a special Pokemon was not available again once it had been captured, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is different. There are actually multiple Spiritombs available, although they rarely spawn!

Can Spiritomb be Caught After it Has Been Killed?

If you catch Spiritomb the first time, or it faints during battle, it is possible to catch it again. It has an almost 1% chance of spawning again at the Shrouded Ruins in Crimson Mirelands, which is the place where it is first found and caught.

It is only possible to catch it at night, so visit the area at night and wait. Make sure it is not foggy, as this lowers the chance to get a Spiritomb. There is no need to talk to the Keystone or interact with anything, as once you have completed the wisp request, the option to catch a Spiritomb is basically unlocked.

Players have noticed it usually takes 10-20 minutes for a Pokemon to respawn, so just return to the village, then go back to the Crimson Mirelands. Returning to Jubilife basically resets the Pokemon spawns, so it is super helpful for those trying to fill their Pokedex. While you wait, maybe do some other tasks or explore for a while, then try again to find and capture Spiritomb. There is also a chance of getting an Alpha Spiritomb at the same location at 0.44% rate!

Good luck! Let us know in the comments below if you have managed to catch Spiritomb more than once!
