Is Optifine for Minecraft Bedrock Edition?

To get straight to the point, the answer is a disappointing noOptifine, and just about any other mod for Minecraft—is for the Java Edition only. To understand why this is the case requires a look at the core of both Bedrock and Java Editions.

The original version of Minecraft is the Java Edition. As the name implies, this version was coded in Java. While it’s robust, it’s limited in several factors, with performance being a major one. Optifine was created to provide better performance options to the Java Edition, on top of enabling user-created shaders.

The Bedrock Edition, however, was coded in C++, an entirely different programming language that allows it to be run on multiple systems. As such, Optifine was never designed to run in the Bedrock Edition of the game. Optifine is technically redundant anyways, as Bedrock Edition is much more optimized than the Java Edition, thanks to its base in C++.
