Has everyone's favorite feature returned in the remakes?

Can you Mega Evolve in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl? – Answered

Remaking old Pokemon games to bring a modern look and a fresh take on a classic game is a concept not unfamiliar to The Pokemon Company or the fans of the Pokemon franchise.

And it’s something that old-school fans, as well as newer ones, look forward to! Veteran Pokemon players love seeing their classic favorites being turned into a modern and beautiful version themselves, and newer players get to experience an older Pokemon game that they never got to play!

With these remakes come new features added into them that weren’t originally available. One of these features was Mega Evolution, which made its appearance in the Generation III remakes, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Naturally, fans were giddy with excitement about the possibility of Mega Evolution in the then-upcoming Generation IV remakes.

Can you Mega Evolve in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl?

Disappointing fans worldwide, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl did not bring back the feature of Mega Evolution that they ditched after Generation VI. While unfortunate, this wasn’t much of a shocker to people following how The Pokemon Company was marketing the game, deciding to label the games as “faithful remakes.”

The decision to call these games “faithful remakes” seems more of an attempt to hide the lack of new content added into the game, because the games are clearly not “faithful remakes” when there are so many changes and new features, the HM system overhaul being a huge one.

If they could make such changes to the game, why not bring back Mega Evolution, just like the fans wanted? Hopefully, The Pokemon Company has some big plans in store for their upcoming release, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which will give fans an easier time forgiving The Pokemon Company for doing them dirty with Pokemon BDSP.
