Diablo 3 is a gift that keeps on giving more than 10 years after its official release. It is one of those games that is worth coming back to thanks to new modes and rewards introduced in different seasons.
Season 26 brought the mode called Echoing Nightmares, where you need to survive onslaughts of progressively more difficult enemies and earn prizes to match your efforts. One of the rewards for surviving each run is Whisper of Atonement, a new Legendary Gem. If you’re not sure how to get or how to use Whisper of Atonement in Diablo 3, this is the guide for you.
How to Get Whisper of Atonement in Diablo 3
The only way to get Whisper of Atonement gems is to successfully finish an Echoing Nightmare run. This means that, although you can get overwhelmed, you mustn’t die, but the good thing is that a Whisper of Atonement gem is guaranteed.
The gem’s level will depend on the tier you reach in your run. However, while the maximum tier for Echoing Nightmares is 150, the level of the Whisper of Atonement doesn’t go above 125. Still, you can upgrade it all the way to 150 via Greater Rifts.
How to Use Whisper of Atonement in Diablo 3
The main purpose of Whisper of Atonement in Diablo 3 is to augment Ancient Legendary items. If it’s your first time doing this, you should know that you will also need the Caldesann’s Despair recipe from Kanai’s Cube and Flawless Royal Gems to match the stats you wish to upgrade:
- Amethyst (used for Vitality)
- Emerald (used for Dexterity)
- Ruby (used for Strength)
- Topaz (used for Intelligence)
Once you use a Whisper of Atonement gem, the augmentation process cannot be reversed.
