In Diablo II Resurrected, you will have to take down hordes of enemies as you make your way through the game’s different locations, and at the end of an Act, you will encounter a powerful boss that will do everything in its power to make your life hell.
Knowing how to deal with these bosses, however, will make your life considerably easier, as you can take advantage of the many customization mechanics found in Diablo II Resurrected to tweak your build to be more effective against these powerful enemies.
Here’s everything you need to know to take down Mephisto without too many troubles.
Overview
Mephisto is Diablo and Baal’s brother, and, as such, you might expect him to be a very difficult enemy to defeat. Thankfully, that is not the case. Mephisto is quite far from his brothers in terms of power, and he is one of the easiest bosses in the game if you use a certain strategy, something that makes him perfect for farming.
You will fight Mephisto at the end of Act 3, in the third level of the Durance of Hell.

How to Defeat Mephisto
As mentioned above, Mephisto can be one of the easiest bosses in all of Diablo II Resurrected, although you really can’t tell by just looking at the stats and resistances.
Due to the design of the area you have to fight him in, it’s possible to get Mephisto stuck in a certain location, allowing you to damage him from afar without risking taking any damage yourself. To do so, head to the central room and navigate around to get him stuck on the fountain of blood.
If you really want your fight against Mephisto to be clean, then you should fight the boss at short range, as Mephisto’s melee attacks are not particularly powerful, especially if you have cold-resistant gear equipped. No matter how you decide to fight him, avoid staying in the back room, as he can summon spirits that can make the fight more difficult. Lure Mephisto to the other rooms, and you can focus on him alone, taking it down by alternating offense and healing with potions.
