Everybody who watched the Pokemon Legends: Arceus trailers were hyped up when they saw these larger, more aggressive versions of the Pokemon that they’ve always known and loved. Now that Pokemon Legends: Arceus has been out for nearly half a month, a lot more has been discovered about those beastly creatures.

You will most definitely come across several Alpha Pokemon throughout your journey in the Hisui region. These Pokemon will chase you and attack you, and if you’re not prepared for a tough battle, that’s going to be bad news for you.

These Pokemon can be easily identified from afar, however, which will give you time to think whether you want to encounter them or keep your distance. Apart from the large size and aggression, one of the key features that distinguish Alpha Pokemon from the rest are their demonic, red glowing eyes.

Do Alpha Pokemon Have Red Eyes After Caught in Pokemon Legends Arceus?

We personally think that the red eyes that Alpha Pokemon flaunt are very cool, and having them remain with the Pokemon even after getting caught would be pretty sick. That is not the case, however, as Alpha Pokemon do lose their red, glowing eyes when caught by the trainer.

Thematically, it makes sense. These are wild and frenzied Pokemon who are especially aggressive in nature, depicted by the red eyes. When the trainer catches and tames them, they are bound to get more docile, which in turn would take away the wild and aggressive red eyes from them.

The Alpha Pokemon do retain their larger size and increased base Effort Levels after being caught though, so losing something that is only cosmetic shouldn’t be of too much concern to players.
