Does Mario Kart Tour Have Controller Support? – Answered

Mario Kart Tour is not dissimilar to what players are used to playing on a Nintendo console, except with the exception of control. Instead of using buttons and joysticks of a handheld controller, Mario Kart Tour controls are all on your smartphone. One thumb does most of the work, as all you have to do is zoom off and then use the right angle to drift around corners and gain speed boosts. Some players are wondering, however, whether one day there could be the addition of a controller to make gameplay a bit more varied.

Will There Be Controller Support for Mario Kart Tour?

It doesn’t look like controller support will be added to mobile any time soon. Players have to learn how to drift effectively using just their thumbs. It does take some practice, but when you get that extra boost, combined with some jumps, it is the best feeling!

Get a rocket start with Mario Kart Tour!

Mario Kart Tour has been out since 2019, so is still relatively new, and maybe Nintendo will get round to adding the controller aspect later. Right now, though, there is no need. The point of a mobile game is that you can play it easily on the bus, or during a lunch break at work or school! I can’t see anyone taking a controller with them as they go to the office.

Drifting in Mario Kart Tour

Some players believe the controller support may come as the competitive scene grows, making room for some evolutions of the mobile game. Perhaps as the game goes on there will be more changes, including controller mechanics added for big competitive events. If you truly want a controller-supported Mario Kart Tour, it may be worth begging Nintendo until they introduce it. The more people who want it, the more likely they are to seriously think about it!

Mario Kart Tour is available to play for free on iOS and Android.
