Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is easily one of the most anticipated games of 2022 and it has finally made its way to compatibility platforms today. The game’s developers previously ran a closed Modern Warfare 2 beta for pre-ordering customers in late September, and the same players have also had full early access to the game’s ambitious campaign mode as well.
Modern Warfare 2’s campaign picks up after the devastating events of Modern Warfare (2019). As announced earlier, both of these titles are reboots of the original Modern Warfare trilogy of games, which is why we’ll be seeing the likes of Captain Price, Soap MacTavish, Ghost, Task Force 141 and others. However, despite its global launch, does Modem Warfare 2 have Gunfight Mode?
Does Modern Warfare 2 Have Gunfight Mode? – Answered
Gunfight is one of the best and most popular Call of Duty modes ever since it was introduced in 2019. Unfortunately, to what came as a shock to players, the game’s developers did not include Gunfight Mode in Modern Warfare 2.
For players who haven’t played Modern Warfare 2019 and don’t know what Gunfight Mode is, it’s simply a round-based deathmatch that pairs two teams of two players against each other in one of the smaller maps. We even saw a similar mode in Call of Duty: Cold War’s tournament mode which gave players the opportunity to get blueprints.
A lot of fans have raised eyebrows while others were simply disappointed why Gunfight wasn’t included in Modern Warfare 2. Ultimately, there is still a ton of time for Infinity Ward to bring Gunfight Mode to MW2 via future updates.
However, there is currently no official word from Activision nor Infinity Ward regarding any updates or the addition of Gunfight Mode. In Cold War, however, the mode was added in the first season, despite not being in the game at launch.
So although morning is confirmed, Gunfight Mode might be added to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 when the game’s first season launches on November 16th.
